How do I put shades to block the sun from my deck to living room?
Its a huge and high to the roof area, no way to get anything up there. Umbrellas dontl do it well enough.

there are window films you can install on the lower areas
There are special window treatments that block sun but not the view. Some can even be motorized, to work on a remote control for high or inaccessible windows.

We have some motorized roller blinds for a normal sized patio french door and two windows but Im not certain the motor could handle the weight of extremely tall long window shades. You might need to visit the window covering dept at your local big bix hardware store to see available options for your specific window sizes.
Do you have a low overhang, that you could put some dark sheets on? Some neighbors put up some white sheets on the low overhang of their porch roof. Do you have wood studs that you could either tack or nail the sheets up with? That would let some light in & allow the breeze to come through easily. Hoep this helps

Have you ever thought of planting trees or bushes along your deck. Arbor Vitae's are great especially to provide shade and privacy. They grow very tall and slim. We have them planted around the perimeter of our back yard. And I love them.
