Blue pallets are likely plastic and can be recycled.
*I should have said “some” blue pallets are plastic. Great article, Hillela! Thanks, Michelle, for the concise summary!
There are some pallets which are labeled with color depending on the company that produced them. Blue pallets are produced by pool CHEP; Red pallets by pool LPR; Brown pallets by pool IPP. It is not advised to use them specially for gardening use as you may find traces of formaldehyde and other resins used in the composite blocks. These are generally used for international shipping and not all countries abide by international standards.
Thanks everyone. I guess I'll find a place to get rid ofthem.
