Does anyone have plans or ideas for making a crafting cabinet/area?

My crafting area will be in the basement, so the idea of closing it up, maybe in a cabinet, sounds awesome! I once saw a crafting cabinet online but it was mucho money!! If NOT a cabinet, maybe DIY plans for a crafting area...how to lay it out, storage ideas, table modification ideas...? Thanks for ANY ideas! :)

      Thanks, Mog30239221, I LIKE it! :)

It looks like you built this table to stand and do crafts.

I wonder if I could inset the bottom so I could sit at the table?

I may have to adjust for my height and the height of my chair too.

      Thanks for responding!

You could actually use a bathroom or kitchen cabinet. If you know anyone that is remodeling might be able to just get it out of their way or might see what you could purchase for. You could add a drop leaf type work table. We got the old cabinets from our church when they did a kitchen makeover and they worked perfect in my husbands workshop! Good luck!

Great thinking! Recycling! Trash to Treasure!

      Thanks, Tinyshoes! :)

PS. I grew up near Athens, TN!

  • I found this DIY idea, very easy and cheap if you have an old cabinet. http://www.craftaholicsanonymous.net/craft-cabinet-the-craftbox

My husband and I both work in basement, have stove there, wood to burn in stove, and laundry area, also huge old furnace. I have front of basement for my work area. I have a 4' X 8' table for projects. Also a long shelf under the tabletop and I store under the bed plastic bins under that. A sewing machine at one end of table. and a closed cabinet (5 ft wide 6 ft high) near it. I also have a open box sort of structure for storing items and two wooden shelving units that I keep big plastic bins on. My shelving units are about 8ft long for one and maybe 10 ft for other??? This is not fancy just utilitarian.

So glad you are pleased with my thoughts. Antique stores may have something too but there are soooo many ideas when you clean, restore and renew life in something. Yeah...Athens was part of my old stomping ground!
