Can a novice replace carpet with laminate floors?

I am a novice but would love to devote part of my summer to replacing the carpet in my stairs and upstairs hall and bedrooms with laminate. I can rent tools and watch youtube videos on how to use them. We have concrete base for our floors. We live in a town home that was built mid 80s. I (well, the bank) owns it. We are in California so there isn't a lot of rain or humidity in case that matters. Thank you very much.

We bought vinyl plank flooring from Home Depot. Hubby installed and wasen't difficult. Its also waterproof.

Yes, you can do this yourself. Just take it slow till you get the hang of it. Every manufacturer has You Tube videos on how to install their product. Purchase your product, have it delivered to the area 2-3 days before installation, open up the boxes and let them acclimate and make sure all the boards are in good shape. Call the store immediately if there is any problem so it can be sorted out before install date.
