What is the best way to build replacement kitchen cabinet doors?

I’m trying to help my long time friend replace his Oak Kitchen cabnet door. The doors are warping and are 30 years old. The doors are wood floor planks, glued - screwed together. I would like to build a simple replacement door for each cabinet

If you construct the door in the same way as the original, but this time add a board across the top at the back and a bracer diagonally from top to bottom for strength, like a Gate or Barn door. /That should do the trick.........
Hey Michael, I built simple cabinet doors for my kitchen using 3/4" maple plywood. It provides a good solid base, you can than add pieces of trim and molding to the front with brads and glue to create any type of "look" you would like on the doors.
If you want solid oak, you will need to make a "pieced" door or use the battens like John mentioned. The piecing of the wood strengthens the door and keeps it from warping.
Like Grandma, we used oak plywood in our family room and got the smooth, flat-board look they were going for in your friend's house. That is my recommendation for the simplest replacement.
You may be able to dampen the doors, lay them flat and put pressure on them using heavy weights, If that works to get them flat, you can then prevent warping in the future by nailing or screwing 1"x2" planks across the doors about 5" from the top and bottom. You can place these planks on the inside of the doors, or outside as decoration.
