I live in a small apartment and would like some plants that will grow
my apartment can be quite cold in the winter so they would need to be able to stand that
and do not recommend cactus, because you should know that I kill cactus no matter how
how someone tells me to take care of them, I use to do ok with philodendrons, but they
eventually became thin looking.

Philodendroms , I think that is how you spell will grow anywhere, trust me, I kill everything too and these are growing great all over my house.
Pothos is a great house plant and one that can take a chilly room. They can grow in almost any light conditions and have a trailing appearance which is really pretty. If you prefer flowers, try African violets. I've had success with them in a cool window sill.
