I need help with a pattern for these pavers i bought for my fire pit.

WilliamNancy Turner

They are odd shaped pavers that won't fit in a pattern they're butterfly-shaped and supposed to be in a pinwheel pattern but I can't get it figured out.

Can you get us a picture of the pavers, Angela? I am having a hard time visualizing the pattern you would need without seeing the pavers. Also, are the pavers for on the ground around the fire pit, or to build up the fire pit?

I think that you will be able to put them on the ground around the fire pit with sand or gravel between them in circles. If you plan on using them to build up the sides, I would put the short edge in and alternate rows with each layer a third or a half beyond the one below and it would look good that way. With a fire pit, nothing has to be perfect, so try putting them in different ways. If on the ground, and the fire pit is square, try alternating the pacers to fit them together. Short end in front, next one long end in front and they may fit together pretty well. Have fun arranging them the way you want them, hopefully I gave you some ideas.

Short end in, wide end out, "wings" butted against each other. They form a circle.
