How about various size pots? I have a friend who gardens on her small balcony - she grows tomatoes, cucumbers and squash along with a lots of flowers - all in flower pots.
Hi Becky! Do you have railings? you could put window boxes on railings. You could build some plant stands with multiple levels for a couple of corners, that way you could put more plants in each area by going up.
There seem to be two choices. 1) Skinny window boxes along one edge plastic ones that can sit inside each other; Place rocks or such in the bottom of one (hot glue holes closed in this one if there are any) , then set the other on top--with drainage holes--line with landscape fabric--fill with potting soil and seeds.
2) the next best thing is to go up in a sunny corner. Using a tiered bathroom holder (bowl like) then fill as mentioned above or hanging pots if possible. This usually takes more water.
I have never had a terrarium. I have a perfect glass dome dish that I want to upcycle into a terrarium. I have no idea where to start. Any help is appreciated.

An old bookshelf or plant shalf will give you vertical space for multiple pots.
CRocks shoes are what I'm gonna do. I saw a pic of using them as planters hung on the walls!
