You do not say what kind of wall you have and what it consists of.

  It is a regular interior wall with wallboard - I GUESS - I don't know what it is called. I DID find out what kind of post I would like to use and it is a 4x4 - I would like to put a post on each end of the cedar chest and then put a shelf on the front of the posts leaving space behind the shelf to bring the cords up behind the shelf. - I don't know if I am making this clear or not - Thanks for trying to help me - Maybe this information will help you know what I am trying to do.
