Many many many years ago by brother turned my garage into a spray booth. He rented a sprayer and painted his car. He still owns that car today, though I doubt it runs . . .
Let a professional do it😱
Go to an auto paint supply store. Get proper supplies like the proper sandpaper. Bondo any holes, sand off any loose paint and prime with self-etching primer. For a nice looking paint job, apply at least two coats of primer and sand in between. Finally, rent a good quality paint sprayer and practice with it to make sure you can evenly apply paint.
Many years ago I repainted the fender on my MBZ using matching paint from an auto supply store. My mechanic asked where I had had the work done because it was such a nice job. You CAN do it but be prepared to the do prep work if you want the paint to last.
