My Hibiscus plants have small holes on the leaves. Is there something I can put on the plants to keep bugs away.

Thank you.

Do you have earwigs or slugs/snails? I would try dog friendly snail bait or sevin granules.

Deb, you can also go out at night when these critters come out to feed and actually catch them and confirm. A flashlight helps. Also any debris under your plant and the earwigs love to live there. Snails leave a slime trail.

Seven dust powder or spray. Also “summer oil” spray any brand. It’s slightly oily and will stick. Good for most plants including roses and gardenias.

Try a spray of strong tea and water(maybe 1part to 1 part) You might have to work with the proportions. Spray on plants. Also the old teas leaves can be mixed in soil. Hope this helps.

I put peppermint Castile soap in a spray bottle filled with water. I use it on veggies, roses etc & I do it preventative & when I see bugs. also use Castile soap in my foam hand soap pump, showe & shampoo with it. Dr Bonner has tea tree too. Using it for 5 yrs/love it. One product does it all & gentle enough for s baby- no harmful ingredients.

You can clip a leaf with the bugs and put in a ziplock bag. Then take to your nearby garden nursery for help.

Spraying soapy water on them works for some types of bugs.
