Cement art for gardens- anyone have ideas?
My daughter and I are looking to do some cement art projects for the garden. The molds seem quite pricey. Does anyone have some ideas for different things that can be used as molds and do you need to coat them with anything if they are NOT silicone based in order for the cement work to slip out easily?

You can make your own cement mold using silicone and cornstarch. We've made quite a few little things for our garden that way. We even molded an old doll to create a wood nymph - https://acraftymix.com/blog/2018/06/04/wood-nymph-garden-ornament/
I mixed up some portland cement and dipped a couple of old towels cut in half in it, draped them over 4 upside-down plastic 5-gallon buckets, that I rubbed some coconut oil on to keep them from sticking, let them harden and use them for planters. You can paint them if you want. (Tip: Cut a small hole in the center of each for drainage before they cure.)
