How do I make a rock cemented walkway?

I have small rocks that I'm placing into the ground to make myself a walkway leading to my car. I bought cement with sand mixed with it. I was told by my friend that it wouldn't dry up on me as fast. I thought that I would have to put a border along the sides ti make an edge. Do u think that I should do a section at a time? I have never done this before. I just get an idea in my head and try to go for it. Any suggestions would b appreciated! Thank you!
