I'm confused. I tried the 45 WATT LED and they don't seem brighter than the 1600 Lumens curley ones. Can I use a higher wattage LED and not blow the electrical? Harward store guys couldn't give clear answers.

We replaced our old fluorescent bulbs with LED's and we surprised how much more light they put out. More light and use less electricity. That is a win win situation.

45 watt LED's will be significantly brighter! 13.5 watts in L.E.D. equals 850 lumens. It's difficult to imagine a compact flourescent bulb having 1600 lumens, each. That would multiply to 9600 lumens, which could brighten a very large area. You may need a dimmer switch, if you opt for L.E.D. bulbs. Check to see if they're marked "daylight" (5000 Kelvin), which is quite intense, or softer white (3200 Kelvin or less).

thank you. I got the 1600 number off the Curley bulb. I only bought one 45 LED to see if it seemed brighter. From what you say replacing all will make a huge difference.
