I'd like to update my kitchen this year. Any suggestions?
I like my oak cabinets and granite countertops just fine. But I want to replace the floor and appliances. But my DYI question concerns a few spots (the end cabinet and Island walls.) They are not solid wood and show wear. What suggestions do you have to cover them up with style? example: beadboard

What is your kitchen style? Hardwood floors for a traditional look, or if you spend much time standing in your kitchen. Engineered wood floors if you never drop anything (they can only be sanded and refinished 1x). Porcelain tile that resembles wood, if you think you'll never drop a dish or other heavy item. Linoleum flooring if you like a more contemporary pattern. Beadboard is an option for your end cabinet and island, matching the wood you have currently, for a traditional look.
