Since glass is no longer recycled in my county, I'm always looking for new ways to repurpose glass bottles and jars. So, I created this beachy, breezy project that is perfect for summer decor. Get the full DIY tutorial on my blog to make your own!

Yep, glass is no longer recycled where I live. The last facility closed last year, and I've been sad about it ever since. But that just means I have to come up with new ways to upcycle my glass bottles!

To create my "Message in a Bottle" summer decor, I first "aged" my bottles so they look old and weathered. Head over to my blog here to find out how I did this !

After giving my bottles a weathered, aged appearance, I then added some sand to each bottle using a funnel (my sand came from the beach, but craft stores also sell it). Then, I made little "messages" that I tied with twine and dropped a rolled message inside each bottle on top of the sand.

After that, I topped each bottle with a cork (I always save them, too) and then wrapped more twine around it. Now I have fun coastal decor to use all summer long! These would also be perfect for inexpensive beach wedding decor, as well.
