How do you keep Japanese Beetles from eating my garden vegetables?

I found them in the front of the house on my cone flowers, and in one day they destroyed half of them. I need to keep them out of the back yard where I'm growing tomatoes and green beans.

You could also try NEEM oil, sold at home and garden centers. Mix and apply every 14 days, as directed, to all leaf surfaces. Do not apply if bees are on the plants, as it will injure them.

I too have had these critters this year and decided to try something new for me. NEEM OIL seems to be working as this is a fungicide AND an insecticide. I use less than the recommended amount as I want to be able to each the tomatoes and cucumbers they are attacking. I use 1 OZ per gallon in a sprayer. works pretty well for me.
