Cup Tray

Summer is here and that means my kids and I are spending some quality time together (which I love). It also means that my kitchen is over-run with CUPS (which I don't love). With 8 kids in the house, a full dishwasher is a nightly occurrence, but sometimes there's not enough room for the day's cups let alone all of the other dishes. And hand washing cups every evening is definitely not my idea of summer-time fun!
Here's my quick and simple DIY solution!
Your cup goes on your number and that is the cup you use all day!
Whew!
One Mom-Crisis averted icon
*This project was zero cost to me as I used supplies I already had on hand (that's the BEST type of DIY, right?!) But, the few materials needed would be low cost to purchase!*
Cups of all kinds. Plastic. Glass. Metal. Tumblers. Jars. Sippy Cups. Mugs. All over my kitchen. Everywhere. Everyday. All summer.
I had to come up with a solution.
Using a stained wood board from my workshop, I drilled holes in each of the 4 corners. I attached sisal rope end-to-end and knotted underneath to serve as handles.
Using a mason jar, I traced the circles that would serve as the spaces for each cup number.
I have 8 kids, so I made 8 circles. But, the number can be adjusted to fit your needs, of course!
I then hand painted the circles and numbers with a paint pen (found at the local craft store, but even a Sharpie Marker would work!)
Lastly, I applied a thin layer of polyurethane to protect the wood and paint.
TaDa! Goodbye 200 gazillion cups, hellllllo clean kitchen!
