I am working on a child sized vanity. Repainting and stenciling this piece of furniture for what has been in my friend’s family for several decades. Her grandfather built it. I am looking for the best glue/attachment method to place a mirror on the vanity. See attached pic.

There will still be some brown space surrounding the mirror.

Use mirror mastic to glue the mirror to the backing.

I do not like mirror mastic. I prefer to use Loctite.

Use mirror hangers or some decorative metal strips to put across each corner n ues tiny long screws with coarse twist, b sure to pre drill screw holes through metal brackets n wood.

Mirror mastic for sure is the safest bet. If you choose another adhesive, make sure the label says that it is safe for mirrors. It usually says "mirror adhesive" on the front. Some glues could de-silver/ ruin your mirror.

Hi Lisa. I'm Cindy. I think using mirror hangers is the best choice to attach the mirror. For the space around the mirror, you could glue on some mirror block-like beads. Take a walk thru the bead department at Hobby Lobby or Michael's for inspiration. Take the measurements with you so that you know how much you need to purchase. Best of luck to you.

For the brown space, you could hot glue lace or other decorative trim around the edge of the mirror and another row under the first. You could use blue, white, gold, or even rainbow. Best wishes ☺️

measure it carefully and have a glass company cut a mirror to exact specifications and then glue it to the wood. then you have a professional look.
