What can I do with an old, huge 55"projection TV?

Is there any parts of tv that I can diy into something?before I throw it away? Noone wants it.

    it may be considered hazardous waste, check with an electrician or tv repair place.

    Hi this is Peggy. In our town we can recycle TV's at Best buy. It may cost a few dollars, but it will be better for the environment.

    Sadly, no there is neither a function or a need for TV parts. They are manufactured to be simply thrown away once they have stopped working, or are no longer compatible with the latest AV technology.

    Yes, I too have heard about Best Buy's program for used TV's. However, Best Buy does not 'recycle' the parts. TV's, and other electronic equipment are simply collected, then eventually disposed of in bulk lots.
