Shifting pond- what to do?

I have a semi large pond in my front yard (hard plastic). Lately it has been sinking from the weight of a lot of heavy stones that form a waterfall. I have quite a few aquatic plants and some little frogs that have set up a homeplace, so draining is kind of not an option right now.

Can I dig out from under the high side to lower it, or do I need to drain and remove all of the stones to reposition it ?

Well, if you’re wanting to keep the plastic form, try not to think of it as the rocks causing it to sink. You want to keep the ground beneath it from shifting, washing out, etc. Try getting paver sand worked in under it. Paver sand will help stabilize it.

Frogs and aquatics can handle disruption. I’m not sure where you’re located, but if you go onto aquascapeinc.com you can locate a water garden expert in your area.
