How can I put in landscape steps on a slope leading to my backyard?
I need about five or six steps to get to my backyard on a slope. I was thinking inexpensive concrete blocks and pea gravel.
If you are satisfied with your handrail, just add spindles or a decorative panel to change the look. You could also place a chicken-wire lattice on the outside of the rail and plant a climbing vine below, either in the ground or in a pot. You could modify yard flags to fit under the handrail by angling the top to match the angle of the rail.
Have you considered cables? You can put them in horizontal or vertical. I prefer horizontal. Very dressy. https://m.lowes.com/pl/Cable-railing-Decking-porches-Building-supplies/67790243
I had moon shaped, aggregate concrete steps poured (by contractor) and purchased a black metal railing they installed with bolts, AFTER
concrete was dry. I had the railing installed right down the middle of the steps and it looked GREAT!
