using 100 years old barnwood shelf brackets and reclaimed lumber we added a shelf to our reclaimed wood wall...and it blends in wonderfully.
old barnwood brackets....we had 4 from a project we did not do
2 boards 6 foot long by 4 inches wide..the brackets depth is 6 inches...so one board we cut off 2 inches to cover the front...we measured the wall length and simple mathematics on where to space each bracket so it is centered
the brackets are attached using 3inch long wood screws,,,the brackets already had 2 holes each, one for the wall on the bottom and one on top to screw a shelf board to it,but we added a 3rd going through both the shelf and the bracket at an angle into the wall
added some low lighting as well
put all the decor back
and we even added a shelf to the window using the same wood and additional shelf bracket that we had.....eventually the final touch to tie the barn doors of the pantry and detail on the dining chairs...we will add clavos on both shelves
We added the fireplace feature
