Hi Judy, are you talking about a laminate floor? I would use a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water with some essential oils splashed in to make it smell nice. Its what I use on my hardwoods, it works great.

I like my 'SWIFFER' with plain pads - not the cleaning spray -- I use plain white vinegar / water in a spray bottle on food/grease spots -- or just plain water for the rest of the floor

I have used a large, commercial grade mop and bucke/ringer for several years now. I just put a little Pine-sol in about 2 gallons of water and it works great. Leaves a nice smell in the house too.

You need to use as little moisture as possible. There are products out there that are made for specifically for laminate flooring. Follow the directions for the best results.

You want to use something that will suck up the moisture that you are putting down. Moisture is laminates worst enemy, that is why I don't have any, not with five dogs that come in with wet feet all the time, and the puppy that likes to have spa times in the water dish. If I had laminate I would get one of the machines that works on both carpet and hard floors, it sucks up the moisture. We just got one of them from Rug Doctor and used it on our hardwood floor, and it took back up almost every drop of the liquid, no haze with the all in one cleaner they have for the machine, and did great on carpet and tile, too! Pricey, but saves me from hands and knee cleaning the floors. That was how I was raised, and that is how I guarantee that the floor is clean. Swiffer pads need to be changed or you are just pushing around dirt and the floors never seem as clean as they advertise, no shine at all. I hope this helps you, Judy!
