After proper cleaning and prep, resealing your asphalt with asphalt sealer will seal and revitalize the top surface as well as gives a protective coating that will help extend its lifespan. Small cracks 1/8” to 3/8” can be filled with a caulk tube driveway repair product, the link is below.
Here is a link that might be helpful on how to rehab your asphalt driveway which will make it look dark black, will last number of years can be done professionally by a contractor or as a DIY job. There are videos and web links out there that you may want to review if you’re going to do this project yourself— be sure to wear clothes that you can get dirty.

You can, but I would think twice about doing so. Black absorbs heat. And depending on where you live and sun exposure, will fade over time. First you will need to fill and repair the cracks. Here is how:

Maybe try
the 'black' driveways you see are generally an asphalt that has been resurfaced. I would hesitate painting a concrete driveway -- I doubt it would stand up to the 'wear/tear' of daily use.
