Another Old Window Mosaic
This is a great way to repurpose old windows and scrap stained glass.
it is so easy to create one of these windows you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner!
Start by finding an old window. I like to clean mine at the car wash then when I get it home I like to wipe it down with a clean microfibre cloth, making sure the glass is squeaky clean.
I like to draw my design on the reverse side of the window, I usually just freehand the drawing but you can always tape a drawing from a colouring book.
decided what colours you’ll like to use on the project, I like to have a shadow side to give the piece better depth.
sort out your glass pieces making sure they are super clean before you start to break them into smaller pieces.
Spread the glue on a thin layer, I use E6000. Start to fill your design with the different colours and shapes.
to break the glass I use a Tile braking tool, I bought it at Home Depot along with the glue and the grout.
once you are done gluing all the pieces in your design let it cure for a minimum of 24 hours. Now you are ready to add the grout. I use a charcoal to give the impression of lead work but also to add even more depth to the piece.
fallow manufactures directions for applying the grout.
clean the glass well and hang in front of your favourite window or outside in the garden or porch.

The finished project is soooo gorgeous and colors so rich that it looks like a classical oil painting! But, ohhhh...how wonderful it must be to see the ways that the sun plays with how it looks all during the daylight hours.

Are you an artist? If I put broken pieces of anything on one of my pieces of art. It would be disastrous.I can't draw two straight lines. I'm fairly certain the coloring book wouldn't be an air. I have a gorgeous stain glass my sister gave me years ago.This will be my claim to fame. You do a beautiful job.
