Very inexpensive and easy galley kitchen backsplash.

I have a galley kitchen with the original 40's panelling which has been painted. I would like to update it with an easy and inexpensive backsplash. My husband and I are senior citizens living on a fixed income.

They make peel and stick tile now, or you could use beadboard.
We found sheets of metallic backsplash with peel and stick backs that were easy to cut to shape and put on the wall. It looks like 3 dimensional tiles, but is all one piece. Even less expensive, yet nice looking, are the foil backsplash sheets (also peel and stick) from the Dollar stores! The only thing you need to be sure of is that the wall is clean and grease free.
What about contact paper? Inexpensive, easily wiped off, and can be a temporary or permanent fix.
You could also depending on a low budget like me, spend the adhesive for tile go to dollar tree and get river rocks or colored stones for $1.00 a bag. Stick them on in any pattern you want, also do a section at a time.as your budget permits, pick out a color grout to spend over the top when done,wipe the stones clean o top and enjoy😊 grout is not to bad in price either.hope this gives some help
I used plastic sheeting that i purchased on Amazon that actually looks like tin ceiling tiles. Each piece (If I remember right they were 6x2feet) was less then $20 and I easily cut it with a pair of scissors. After that I just glued it up with liquid nails and it looks great!
