Be sure your lawn or whatever is next to your house slopes away from your foundation so water naturally runs away. Also gutters and well placed downspouts are a must... making sure they aren't undersized and will handle enough rain when you need them. Be sure the downspouts have enough extension at the bottom to get that water well away from your foundation.

If you have rain spouting. buy some extensions directed towards your yard away from your home. . Home depot sells them . They are not that expensive . my son basement got water in it because of one spouting came off. .he never check spouting. .he will after that. .

if this is on going, then you definitely want to have the downspouts and extensions away from your foundation. If you can bury the corrugated extensions, this will work pretty well if you dig a well at the end of them and fill it with rock and recover. this will give you somewhere for the runoff to be handled away from your house.

Weeping tile is the best way to be sure you have no problems with water. Be sure the elevation leans from you home to a lower level so the rains do not permeate. Make sure all down spouts are running a fair distance from the foundation.

Add some soil along the foundation wall about a foot high and sloping 2' to 3' out so the water drains away.
