I have a 4ft chain link fence around my yard but want to create a privacy space on the back and sides of my yard. Any ideas?

Fence companies sometimes sell strips that fit vertically into the fence. Any heavily vined plant with woody stems may give you more privacy (Depends on your climate). Privit hedge works very well, as could Rose of Sharon, lilacs, etc.

We have a chain link fence and like you wanted privacy. My husband went to Home Depot (I believe,) he bought Bamboo fencing that comes in 6-8 foot panels the height was,I believe 5’. We attached the panels to the chain link with wire strips we cut to length -to fit around a link and a bamboo pole. We tied the fence to the chain link at different points thru-out the panels to keep it in place & attached thru any weather, animals climbing etc. When attaching the wire I suggest gloves, wire can poke fingers when putting thru and around the bamboo & chain link. The panels of Bamboo are made tight together Absolute Privacy! You can buy real bamboo panels or fake. We put ours up in 2005-6 and there still up. We hang potted plants, decorations Plus gone thru A lot of bad storms & Hurricane Seasons! I love the look. Very easy.

Hi! We added a section of privacy fence over our chain link fence where I have a stone bench and concrete angel. It's in the shade of a tree, and is very peaceful.

I have the same issue. I was thinking of using vinyl lattice.

Search Craigslist for free lumber and pallets. add a basework by adding base panels on top of posts both sides and then along top. Screw new boards to the base pieces. The pallet wood will most likely not be treated so will need to use an outdoor paint or stain to protect the wood
