My Tomato Plants

CindyAnn|The Apple Street Cottage

I have 2 tomato plants. I know we in GA> have had LOTS of rain this spring up until 2 weeks ago.. Now dry. And I do water them.
But the tomato are small, and not juicy when you slice them.. Kind of dry..
Any answers why?

  • Usually it's lack of water or inconsistent watering, Linda. Another factor is extreme heat.

I agree with Ann. They're not getting enough water. I water my garden every morning for about a half hour. This seems to be just right for my vegetables. I also use a soaker hose. That way I am watering the soil and roots, not the leafs. This watering method has doubled my harvest. Best of luck to you.
