How to build a one foot brick retaining garden wall?

I want to know the best way to build a 1 foot retaining garden wall? I live in Corpus a christi, Texas where we hardly get any rain fall. The front of my house is so bland so I want to elevate the garden beds. I also want to install a rain catcher to use to water the garden once it’s complete. Can you please show me the correct way to elevate my gardens? 😁❤️🙏🏻

What about that old stand-by, concrete blocks. There are dozens of ways to arrange them and you can even plant inside the block itself. Then either paint or plaster the outside to dress it up. I'm sure there are already examples on this site or Printrest that go way beyond simple rectangles but even that can be dressed up by putting posts in some blocks to set planters on. If you have more time and money you could use brick to match the house.
You can also buy the quickcrete type small or whatever size bags of cement you want hose the them down w paper on until they dry . I cut slits so water can get in there to wet them the paper will wear off or if you set them out a layer at a time wet let them dry you can peel off they look like rustic stone blocks when done i use them many ways and are inexpensive . Also examples in Pinterest .

If money is not an issue, there are many kits for building raised beds. Decide what look you want (wood, stone, etc) and look for them on the nest. Gardeners.com used to have a good selection. You could also use something like galvanized tin roofing if you like that rustic look, or even a row of galvanized watering troughs for animals like sheep that would be lower.
The garden beds would be good using wood, border blocks or reclaimed wood, etc. Another thing that could help your house stand out is shutters and a colorful front door. Flower boxes could be placed below the windows and filled with flowers or other drought resistant plants. Enjoy your new look.
