How to use newel posts to build a fence?

A neighbor gave me 8 white newel posts in good shape and I want to build a fence structure to hide my trash cans. What's the best way to use them to make a fence? They are about 4 ft. tall and have a curved main portion about 3 ft. of the length, so not sure if they would be weird to attach a straight board to...could only find birdhouses and decorative garden accessory ideas online.

Hey Wen first thought I had was you could put posts (that you drive into the ground) on the inside and the newels and fence on the outside then connect them. Then you wouldn't see the interior supporting posts but it would be strong etc.
