I think that depends on What kind of table and what the head/foot board look like. I Have seen someone make a console table by attached some lumber to the top of the headboard and some stabilizing feet. Check You Tube? Perhaps others have dome something

This may be a project that can be solved with getting a table at a thrift store. If that is what you need.
