Is there a difference between a 16ga brad nail gun and a 16ga finishing gun,,,,do they use the same nails?

A brad nailer will take much smaller nails than a finishing nail gun. A finishing gun is usually bigger than a brad nailer and heavier. Many times the finishing gun is made to get into angles better--like under the eaves of a house. The gauge is the size of the nails that fit into the gun. Different nailers take different size gauges.
