Would like some ideas for a small space in the front of my house

there is very little if any sunlight there so plants would have to require very little light -- would also like some ideas for the ground because right now there is no grass there. Would prefer something other than grass --- any ideas?

I like lirope as a ground cover. Hosta attracts slugs.
Hosta and hydrangeas both like the shade and they come in a variety of colors. You could sprinkle in some flowers in pots - non-stop begonias are pretty but impatients are more abundant in their flowering.
PS. You can leave a small cup of beer set into the ground for the slugs if they show up.
Hostas! And Hydrangea! The hostas THRIVE in little to no sunlight areas, and their variety of foliage colors and they have pretty blooms as summer comes along. And if you want plants with height go with Hydrangea!
