How to rid my garden of weeds

After bringing in compost for my garden, in the spring of 2017, which I have done for a couple of years, I now have weeds (the size of small trees) & vines that have small yellow melon type things on it that has completely taken over my whole 1/2 acre garden area! I am now overwhelmed and don’t know what to do! It’s to big of an area to spray each weed & I have been trying to garden as organic as possible, no commercial fertilizers or pesticides. I just didn’t even attempt it this year because I’m frustrated with it and don’t know what to do! Any help would be appreciated.

A Natural Method for Killing Weeds
With all due respect, the above remedy is NOT what you want to use if this is a garden spot. Aside from the monumental job of using a hand sprayer on a 1/2 acre lot, it will not only kill the weeds, but anything else that you want to grow as well. Especially if you use salt! Since the area is so large, you might have to get the help of a professional to clear the land and start from scratch. Seek advice from a knowledgeable local nursery man/woman. Good luck.
