I have several giant Elephant Ear plants 🌱 coming up in my back yard, which I did not plant. I’ve tried many times trying to get rid of them, but they keep coming back. Any suggestions on how to get rid of them. Thanking you in advance for your help. audree1127@att.net

  • Wind and wildlife deposited them there for you. Dig out best you can. Then repeatedly drown the area in plain old white vinegar. Will take a bit of time, but will work. Environmentally friendly and non toxic.

If it really is a giant elephant ear plant, you should be able to dig up the bulb to get rid of it. Just make sure that the you don't leave any of the little baby bulbs that form on the main bulb, for sure it will come back eventually if you leave any behind. I live where I have to dig up in the fall and replant in the spring. The bulb should be pretty good sized and hard to miss when you dig around the plant. I would be happy to take the bulb if I lived in your area, my huge half wine barrels are great with them planted with coleus around them. I hope this helps you, Audrey!

Dig it up and please ship it to me in Canada.

I love them but rarely get them to grow big before the frost kills them.
