Enclose drawer space with bead board or plywood stained or painted to match dresser. Insert basket(s).
Some people are taking dressers and making them into tv stands. Taking the top row or rows of drawers out for electronics(Blu Ray Players and Game systems) and using the bottom drawers for game and movie storage.
I came across one last night that had been redone and was missing the bottom drawer. They put a basket in the bottom drawer. It looked really nice.
