How do I replace carpet in 5th wheel slide out?

It’s a 2007 camper that will be parked at the lake. The carpet is gold so that should give you an idea how bad this is. I would like replace it with something that is easy, light inexpensive and durable. What do you suggest?

Well some of the most durable carpet is the carpet used on boats, its usually mildew resistant and very durable. Another option, is to buy indoor outdoor carpeting which has a pad on the underside, and comes in many colors. These carpets have greatly improved since the old green plastic grass days. Another option would be to tear the carpet out and put in peel and stick tiles. I would definitely use an adhesive with them even though they are peel and "stick" because the adhesive guarantees they stay in place over the long haul. :D
