My tomato plants aren’t doing good. Why do the leaves curl?

Alice, depending on where you live your soil might need amending. Ours in Colorado is calcium deficient causing end blossom rot. You could have a similar issue. One of the best things I ever did with tomatoes was to amend the soil with mushroom compost. I discovered this accidentally, so only some tomato plants had it. They were twice the size of the other plants and produced well.

It can be caused by not having good drainage for them. They need to be watered until water comes out the bottom then let alone for a couple days in this heat and water well again. If they are not draining well from poor soil it can cause that . Also if they do not get enough water in the heat they will curl too. Hope this helps. You did not specify if they are in containers or in the ground.
