Is there a sure-fire way to get rid of Creeping Charley?
Mushrooms being fungus grow when conditions are moist and shady. Here in Western PA I see mushrooms in garden beds and lawn after lots of rain and multiple overcast days There are anti fungals you can buy but usually the mushrooms will go away once conditions dry out a bit!
Hi Keith,
From past lawn experience.. they appeared when conditions were wet and humid.. so if the weather has been like that would be one reason.. Here is a link to some other reasons..

I agree with Beth. I called my locate college extension about it and they said to stop watering the grass for a bit and they'll disappear. They did.
I have them pop up even in planters when it has been hot, humid and rainy. I try to pick what I can find and dispose of them before they let go of their spores, otherwise they go away when it dries up. I just don't like to see them growing in the lawn, gardens and planters. Mine mainly show up in the more shady areas in the front that is shaded by two massive elms and maples. They are less likely to come back in that area if they didn't let go of their spores. Vinegar is a great anti fungal and antibacterial, but will kill anything that it touches.
Mushrooms are growing due to the moisture in the yard, either by a lot of rain and/or humidity. I have the same issue. I just leave them until I mow.
