What can replace an above ground pool?

We had an above ground pool with a wooden deck built almost half way around the pool. We took the pool down, now trying to figure out what to do with the old pool area, which would utilize the wooden deck. The deck is about 4.5 ft. off the ground with 2 sets of stairs. Any ideas?

My neighbor just took out the deck part left the walls and covered a part of the area with sail cloth you know triangles and then used pavers for a really nice patio

  We will probably use the deck part like that, but with it being so far off the ground, seems like we need something else to go with it. Forgot to say, that the deck is away from the house, so it stands out like a sore thumb.

create a seating area, or maybe even chairs around a self contained firepit or fountain, with umbrellas or awnings..containers of plants, etc.
