There are fairly safe Citrus based paint strippers in the big box stores depending on how much you want to spend? You could also just lightly sand everything and paint over it.
Hi Paulette, If you can take the legs off, paint them first, so you have a nice clean look. Next, do the tabletop, and when all is dry, reassemble the table and legs.
