Don't know cama lillies. Calla lilies grow from bulbs and they can spread, would have to be dug up and removed. Ask at a garden club, local botanical gardens, a master gardener. They may know someone that would like some calla lilies.

You'll have to dig and be sure to remove all the bulbs. You might want to ask if any neighbors, garden friend, etc. would want to come dig and keep them.

I love canna lilies so I just dig up the bulbs in the spring when there is a little growth showing and plant in a pot or different area of garden. You can also give bulbs away. Also, there is a website "Dave's Garden" where people post plants to give and exchange.

Hello Nan, Do you mean Canna Lilies If so, dig out the bulb after flowering has finished and Sell them or give them away to friends, neighbours or a Charity, who will sell them to raise funds................. If you can't dig, offer them for free if dug out for you....... You are bound to get takers..............

no---I mean Camas Lillies. They are indigenus to this are --the NW. Native Americans dug up the bulbs and used them for food. I just want to kill the darn things--they are very invasive --the blossoms set seed pods which open in winter and scatter seeds. Good for the people, not good for home gardens.

Hello Nan, Sorry I got it wrong! Unfortunately other than dig them all up and collect the seed heads before they scatter, the only other thing might be to contact your Local Authority and ask for Advice on what to do! I don't suppose you will be the first to enquire......... Good luck!

To rid of pretty much all invasive weeds, you have to sweeten the pH of the soil. Weeds like poor acidic pH soil, grasses prefer rich high alkaline pH soil. Mow down Camas or weeds before or while flowering and certainly before seed heads form. Apply bags of pelletized calcium/lime with a broadcast spreader according to bag directions, in affected areas just prior to forecasted rain in Spring and Fall. It’s good for it to rain just after application. Repeat every year in Spring and Fall as routine maintenance.

Best deal on bags of pelletized lime is less than $5 per 40 lb bag at Tractor Supply as of this writing. Just get the bags yourself, don’t preorder to pickup because they have a habit of palletizing broken/leaking bags. Stuff is caustic and dusty like salt.
