You seem to have a long, narrow lot. You could have a larger circle if you use cutouts for any existing brickwork. The plans Mog, above, cited are beautiful. I suggest a round pergola, with a brick fire pit in the center. A small fire pit would be sufficient. I hope you take lots of pictures and post your project on Hometalk. Best wishes, Sara. ☺️

You should build an outdoor kitchen, you already have such an amazing entertaining area.

Round is always an illusion. You need to rather than solidify the round by a pour, space bricks or blocks appropriately, enough to enforce the illusion that it is round.

It does not however absolutely need to be round to recieve as round.

Fine example: using the 7 sexagons concrete mold for making smalk concrete sexagons as a resource to create rounded regions contained by a curb.

    You can buy these at:

Your Block Component itself is rarely round but can be if you want to use colorants.

The Curb, however, outside of those and the mortar that spaces those blocks those are the enforcers of the big lie or illusion.

But, Creating that curb only requires Garden Stakes and masonite cut to 3"×48" pieces, and you go over grounds prepoed for that with a small stake to create a nipple effect in the base of the curb so they stay put.

Thus, because that curb must make last, often the DIYer feels daunted and puzzled all along the way, scratching their head and dumbfounded saying 'I don't see it, hon'.

You must be patient, keep heart and stay grounded in your confidence.

It comes together, to whatever the geometry desired is, no matter what the Basic Component Geometry is that you use.

It is not advanced. You create your basic layout with your component blocks or bricks & If you want to use more artisanship, [rather than use more mortar or cement with contrasting colorants to create those specially shaped bricks or blocks to fill the geometry voidancy], you can just cut the Blocks or change the component shape of molded concrete or cement, rather than use the age old method of:

Much alike the edge of tile or drywall in a kitchen or bath needs not be absolutely perfect because it goes beneath the trim, likewise in making Large Geometries for Patios, mostly all of the protruding component blocks or bricks usually tuck away and get set right into the cement curb that works as a Perimeter or Trim.

    In Summary

Before being too critical of your own work, it is a good idea to step back for a while, and take a small walk around your community.

You take this walk to Fully Observe how often projects other than your own, too, had the Foreman been equally critical of his crew, as yourself are critical of you, those projects would not ever conclude, nor ever be done.

When you return from that walk, you should have a much increased degree of clarity on what in fact defines: 'Professional Grade Perfection'.

In 99% of all projects you will see in that brief 'Stroll About Town', the definition of Perfect is:

Perfect: A degree of precision, usually advanced which by methods and processes, arises an increased ability to enforce an illusion of Flawlessness, esp. as observed by laymen or otherwise inexperienced persons who often are factually naive enough to believe and agree that: In that Artisanship, Neither Flaw nor Small Imperfection existed.

I assure you, without any curbs, nothing on this earth, which has ever been made of brick, cement or concrete, could ever look as close to perfect as it does.

If I were you, I would order outdoor furniture and make a nice terrace. This is a personal preference, but I would make use of that space. You can look for some outdoor daybeds from https://www.madburyroad.com/outdoor-daybeds/ and see if you'll find anything that you like. If not, you can set up a little fireplace that you can use during summertime with your friends. That's what I did and it's been amazing. Each one of us is grabbing a beer and we are all sitting around the fireplace laughing and talking. That's why I love summer and hate winter haha
