Front Porch & Front bushes- what should we do??
Just bought our first home and the porch has no railing, no hand rail for the steps and would love to get a swing on the porch but not sure of the wood work on the ceiling of our porch. We have a wood flooring on the porch and cement steps.
The bushes out front are used as a block/wall between the street and us. We live on a main street to boot. Not much of a front yard, but it's ours. Hate the bushes but with nothing between us and the street - not sure if we should move the oversized bushes. Oh what to do, what to do...

Hello Ope, I'd have a carpenter look at the wood you want to hang your swing from. You can find a reliable carpenter at HomeAdvisor.com. You can pick from several. Their background is checked, their creditals, a BBBureau, rating or check also on CraigList.
Boxwoods are always good foundation plantings, being green year round. Be sure to plant far enough out so you can easily walk behind them and allow the house to “breathe”.
Good luck! Hope you find something that works for you.
