Depends on whether the ring is etched into the porcelain or not. CLR Bathroom and Kitchen will get most stains out. Home Depot sells an acid wash that also works. USE CAUTION if you use the acid wash as it will burn your skin if you come in contact.

You can use bleach, but if this is a rust stain, you may have to turn off the water supply, flush the toilet to remove the water and then scrub it wish something like Barkeeper's Friend or Bon Ami that you can pick up at the grocery store. Some stains can't be removed!

    Hi Kathy,

If the ring is cause by hard water, vinegar can help. Use your toilet brush to remove as much water from the bowl as possible. Use rags soaked in vinegar to put on the ring and let it soak to let the vinegar do it's work. Depending on how thick the deposit is, let it soak for an hour or so. Then rub with the rags to remove the softened deposits and clean as normal. Flush it all out for a sparkling toilet. Wishing you the best!
