Planting grass in Sandy soil. What should I do?

Should I try to remove as much sand as I can? Or just go for it like it is. I live in California.

    I would think buying sod would save time and money in the long run

    It's the same for me in Florida. I have not planted grass but I have planted several flowers and bushes. I take away a lot of the sand and replace it with a couple handfuls of peat moss and then I use black topsoil/earth. Everything is growing very well. Might work for grass seed or sod. Worth a try! Hope this helps!
