Stripping Paint- What are your thoughts?

I have a pedestal dining table that I painted red 5 years ago. Now I want to remove the paint. I wanted to try Citristrip but I've heard that it both does and does not work? What are your thoughts?

We always used Savogran Kutzit. It works great but you must always wear kitchen gloves or thicker ones. It's really tough on skin. It works

Thank you for the suggestion. Can I find this at Home Depot or Lowe's?

  • I have used it. It works but you may need to reapply a couple of times to remove all the paint. Do wear protection and follow the directions.

I’ve used criti strip with good results, it’s a matter of reading the directions and following them ....no short cuts. It’s not a fast acting stripper, but it’s a bit less toxic.

I also have used criti strip with great results and Dfm said it is not the fastest stripper but it is less toxic. Be sure to read all the directions

  • Citristrip works great. Use a plastic scraper so you don't scratch the table top. Let it sit for about 20 minutes. It will bubble up and you just scrape it off. I normally put the goo in a cardboard box so that I can throw it away easily. Good luck!!

    Thank you!

If you want quick acting, have your project dip striped.
