Wow, what a great find!! You scored! We are big fans of Rust-Oleum Hammered Spray Paint. It's made for outdoors and adds a fun texture to any project. They offer multiple colors so you have options.

You could always paint it a terra cotta color or something bright to liven it up. The color of a beautiful flower (yellow or orange).
I usually take a wire brush and lightly brush surface to get rid of clumps and flakes of rust, and then use Rustoleum spray paint. That's a great piece - and bargain! - I can't wait to see what you do with it. Please post pictures when you're done!
